Epiphany: A Blog List

Here is a great way to get more exposure for your blog: Epiphany. Okay, technically it is 3L Epiphany and it is from a Big 10 school, but if you can put up with that, this is a great blog. (Translation: Professor, give the kid an "A.")

From the about page:

First, 3L Epiphany will be a typical, personal blog where I can learn the practical aspects of blogging. I sincerely believe that the skills which I learn from this endeavor will be marketable ones, since blogging is becoming more prevalent and ubiquitous in the legal community.

Second, I plan to utilize 3L Epiphany as a resource to demonstrate the many potential uses of a law student blog. In particular, I believe that blogging will eventually provide an entirely new model for displaying legal and professional skills to potential employers, and I expect to make 3L Epiphany an example of how this can be done.

Third, I plan to study "blawgs" directly, especially those of legal practitioners. I will tour the legal blogosphere in order to discern the benefits and consequences of blogging. And I will interact directly with lawyers who blog to ascertain their personal observations and conclusions.

By the end of the semester, I expect that 3L Epiphany will have become a useful resource for "blawgers" of every kind. And I especially hope that present and future law students will consider 3L Epiphany as a precedent-setting manifestation of a student blog's inherent possibilities.

Okay, if he would drop the use of blawg and blawger, it would be perfect. Seriously, this guy has a great idea.

He has a list of blogs. Some are defunct, or close to it, and some are not. But, in the two days since I was listed there, I have averaged an extra 50 hits per blog. On this blog, which gets about 500 hits a day, that is a 10% increase. On my PI blog, where I get about 200 hits per day, it is a 25% increase. I do not know about the rest of you, but if I can get an extra 10% increase in readers, life is good, especially on my PI blog, where marketing is the point.

Check the list and if your blog is not listed, send them a comment.

PS Seriously, this project deserves an "A." Come on OSU - it is the best thing since you pulled off the Men's and Women's Big 10 basketball regular season championships and this will get you better press than Maurice Clarett.

As a native Michigander and an IU law graduate, I can unequivacally and objectively state that this is a far greater achievement than anything OSU has ever done athletically.

Carolyn -

Maybe yours got lost in the mix when he listed so many right away? I think being on his list of added blogs helped because there were fewer of us. Either way, I still see a spike here on Sunday.

Jonathan

I have been listed with the project since its inception and not noticed any increased traffic at all.
